Mother's Day

Another weekend over for me, thanks to mother’s day I managed to get some film watching done. However, due to me once again working late night Sunday, we celebrated mother’s day on the Saturday. Which was a completely chilled and relaxed time, when we FINALLY got in. So I was dropping my girlfriend off up to her mum’s as well that day as she too was working on the Sunday, after this I gave my mum a call and agreed to go pick her up. When picking her up we decided that we would go for a walk around a little shopping outlet on the way to hers.

What and absolute disaster, first of all while driving there I kept forgetting where I was going because we are doing so much catching up which was fun and then, when we got there and tried to get parked up it was ridiculously busy, and that was just on the roundabout heading in. We decided then to head off to go for a coffee somewhere else and the same thing happened, except this time we made it into the car park and I didn’t know if I would be able to get back out, it wasn't fun.

Films

Over the weekend I watched a few films, that have recently been released on DVD. The films I watched were Boxtrolls and Dracula Untold. Total opposites!

Boxtrolls is about a human boy called Eggs who gets taken in by boxtrolls who are rubbish collecting trolls that wear boxes, during the film Eggs tries to save the trolls from evil Archibald Snatcher. I really enjoyed the film it was exactly what it seemed a very good family children's film. It was made by people who worked on Coraline and ParaNorman two really good animated films, boxtrolls lives up to the great animations. All in all really good, 'Good vs Evil' film and puts a smile on your face at the end :)

Dracula Untold is about a different telling of how Dracula became and also why this happened, based on love and the lengths you go to keep your family safe. This was completely different to what I expected, although not totally sure what I was imaging. However I loved it, a very different and well thought out film, mixing action and fantasy together in a totally unexpected way, in which you would think when hearing the name Dracula. A definite must see.

Hopefully more film reviews to come. If you enjoyed and or what like to suggest any films to watch let me know in the comments below.
